When Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo approached Spectrum with the idea of creating all-new companion brand pieces – both long form and TV :30 – the first goal was to understand the true spirit of the place. Most every town has a zoo of some sort, but Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo stands out as a place of incredible connection and amazing up-close personal moments. Spectrum set out to capture that spirit, foregoing the usual mix of contrived actor-based setups in favor of real encounters experienced by actual fans of the zoo. The approach was naturalistic at its core, and expressed through beautiful cinematography and sun-dappled vignettes. The result was an emotionally charged blend – a mosaic of moments that told of a zoo with impact far beyond its geographic footprint. This was a story that immediately connected with the public, yielding strong consumer engagement and a robust number of shares and viewings across Facebook, YouTube and other outlets.
